These may be the toughest, thickest bags I've ever come across that fit nicely in to a 30 gallon Rubbermaid BRUTE garbage can. With these bags you can fill the BRUTE to the top, heaped to overflowing, step on it to pack it down, then fill to overflowing again, remove the bag, keep all of the garbage in the bag, and still have plenty of extra room for one or two more items and be able to easily tie the bag shut, and not worry about anything leaking out. I've had several people comment that they're "too good to throw away." "No don't use those, those are too good." And my favorite "Wow, if I need help transporting dead bodies, I'm going to use THESE BAGS!"The only downside as far as I can tell is that they don't have any type of liner or protection in them for sharp objects. Nails, screws, 2X4s with nails sticking out, etc, will cut and slice the bags. You'd think the super thick plastic would hold up better, but one sharp piece of glass will slice this bag from top to bottom. The thicker plastic seems to snag sharp objects with more holding force, rather than just flexing out of the way. I removed a porcelain toilet in pieces, and had to triple bag it to keep the first bag from just falling apart from the sharp porcelain. Of course, I did have 50+ pounds of busted up toilet in there, and it was very sharp, I was bleeding myself by the time the project was done! I've also done construction clean up with these and all it takes is one drywall screw getting caught just right to slice them open. At one point, I even wondered if the bag was sliced open from the factory, but discovered that a soup can top had sliced it. The thicker plastic just seems to snag easier. In each case, I've been able to double bag and not have anything spill out, but just be aware that they are tough, but seem to be more susceptible to slicing than you'd expect from such a thick bag.
